Call for grants 2020
The foundation’s primary role is to support medical, technical and scientific equipment and methods related research and economic research in these fields. The Foundation can also support other high-level basic research in medical, scientific and technological areas that promotes the Foundation's purposes. The Foundation's grants for the year 2020 are available from 10th of June to 9th of September 2019.
1. Instrufoundation Fellow Grants (á 100 000 €, 5 pcs)
The grant is intended for a newly established independent researcher returning to Finland either to set up a research team or to strengthen a researcher's existing research team. The Fellow grant is intended for use in Finland for one year's research work.
2. Silmu Grants (á 50 000 €, 5 pcs)
The Foundation's new Silmu grant is intended for researchers and entrepreneurs with innovative projects that promote new business. Duration of the project is one year and it has to be conducted in Finland. A prerequisite for the grant is that the applicant (team) is in possession of the rights to the idea. A transfer agreement has been signed on the rights. In addition, a spin-out company that has been registered in Finland has been established for commercialization of the idea (Business ID exists). The grant will be transmitted to a company created from the research.
3. Post-doc grants
The individual grant is intended to support the research based abroad of recent doctorates for up to two years. The grant may cover all costs arising from working abroad, such as travel costs, school fees and insurance. The amount to be awarded is based on the cost estimate submitted by the applicant.
4. Grants for doctoral theses
should be submitted electrically using the link available on web site https://instru.apurahat.fi, the link will be opened on the 10th June.
Fill in the application in Finnish or English. The deadline for applications is on 9th September 2019. The name of the grantees, specific research and the amount awarded will be published in March 2020 on the homepage of the Science Foundation.
