Call for grants 2021
The foundation’s primary role is to support medical, technical and scientific equipment and methods related research and economic research in these fields. The Foundation can also support other high-level basic research in medical, scientific and technological areas that promotes the Foundation's purposes.
1. Instrufoundation Fellow Grants (á 100 000 €, 2 pcs)
The grant is intended for an independent researcher who has recently (approx. in the last two years) returned to Finland from abroad either to establish his or her own research group or to strengthen the researcher's existing research group. The Fellow grant is intended to be used for research work in Finland during one year.
2. Silmu Grants (á 50 000 €, 2 pcs)
The Silmu grant is intended for research innovators and science entrepreneurs for innovative projects that promote new business. The duration of the project is one year and its location is Finland. The prerequisite of the grant is that the applicant (team) has the rights to research-driven innovation. The invention notifications have been processed and the rights must have a signed transfer agreement. In addition, a company has been established in Finland (Business ID exists) to commercialize the idea. The company is not older than about two years. The grant is paid into the company's account. The project plan that will be attached to the application will be prepared on the basis of the Silmu application instructions (LINK).
3. Post-doc grants
The grants are intended for scholars, who have recently (approx. in the last two years) completed their doctoral degree and wish to conduct research abroad (from Finland) for up to two years. The grant can cover all expenses incurred while working abroad, such as travel and relocation costs, as well as school fees and insurance. The amount to be awarded is based on the cost estimate provided by the applicant.
4. Grants for doctoral theses
The individual postgraduate grant is intended for full-time doctoral thesis work in Finland. The grant is awarded for one year at a time.
Applications should be submitted electrically using the link available on web site https://instru.apurahat.fi. The link will be opened on the 15th June.
Fill in the application in Finnish or English. The deadline for applications is on 1st September 2020. The name of the grant recipients, the subject of the grant and the amount awarded will be published on the Foundation homepage in March 2021.
