New dates for the 2024 grant application round – opens on August

In recent years, the application round for grants from the Instrumentarium Science Foundation has opened at the turn of May-June. The next application period for 2024 will open for the first time on August and is valid until mid-September.

"We have noticed that the majority of applications arrive very close to the end of the application period. Based on the decision of the foundation's board, the 2024 grant application round is now running from 1st of August to 15th September, 2023. It is now one and a half months instead of the previous three months. With the reform, the applicant's research plan is even more up-to-date," says Attorney of the Foundation, Dr. Markku Lämsä.

There are also some changes coming to the 2024 grants.

"The Instrufoundation Fellow grant will increase to 150,000 euros. To the grants for doctoral thesis we will include a pension insurance, which will increase the grant by 14 percent. In the Post Doc grants we also consider from now on the researchers arriving to Finland. In addition Other grants as a form of grant will be completely removed", Mr. Lämsä explains.
